001. STEALING
Do not steal. Isola will not tolerate stealing. If a member is found to have used stolen content on this site, there will be severe consequences. What you do off the site is none of our business, but if you bring any stolen content here or steal from our site, we will take action. That means, no plagiarizing, 'borrowing characters', taking another person's writing or ideas, the improper use of manips, etc. None of it will be tolerated.

002. RESPECT
It is required that all our members respect everyone: staff, other members, guests, etc. Especially respect our staff and rules. Do not question our authority. If you feel you've been wronged, contact the admin account. Do not start some major issue; I don't tolerate explosive arguments, so if you inform me nicely and without fuss, I will resolve the conflict, no questions asked.

003. SWEARING/RACISM/SEX TALK
Proboards requires that you must be thirteen to join, which means this site has all right to a PG-13 rating. That means I will allow members to swear if they'd like. As long as they don't swear disrespectfully or swear against God. Yes, I'm a Christian, so I'd appreciate if my members didn't use His name in vain. But I do also understand that not everyone is a Christian, so there will be no religious talk on this site, unless done so in a proper setting. There is absolutely no racism or sex talk, end of story.

004. ACTIVITY
When you become a member of Isola, we expect you to dedicate an amount of your time to us. We aren't asking you to spend twenty-four hours of your day here, but we'd appreciate if you'd at least make an effort to a daily appearance, even if that doesn't mean a post a day. If you don't expect to be active, then please do not join the site. Also remember that if you fail to put up an away note for when you're gone, you're at risk for losing privileges such as mares, land, and positions. So please try and retain activity, and give us a heads up if you'll be away.

BASIC CHARACTER GUIDELINES_______________

001. BASIC INFORMATION
There will be no power-playing or godmoding in any way, shape, or form unless it's 100% ok with the other player. We allow any breed of horse, but be realistic with your markings, please. There aren't any blue horses with yellow tongues walking around. And in making your character, we urge that you try to be creative, and don't make a draft that's invincible. We don't buy it. Strength is in the character, not the breed.

002. CHARACTERS
All characters on this site are to be made in a realistic manner. All markings and colors should be realistic or possible in real life. We understand stretching realism into creativity, such as combination markings that are abnormal, and maybe not-so-possible, but on a realistic level, such as making your character have a huge spot covering half their body. As long as it's seemingly realistic, and it's obvious you tried to make it realistic, we'll let you slide. But if we think it's a little too out there, we may ask you to make some changes.

003. ROYALTY
There are three kings and three queens on this site. One king and one queen for each alliance. On this site, queens cannot rule alone. Kings, however, may have the option of ruling alone. We do ask that you make an effort to find a queen in due time, to make things fair and allow more people a chance at royalty. Auditions, whenever they might be held, will only be held for the king positions. It is up to the king to decide their queen, which is also usually their mate. We figured that'd be more realistic than choosing both the king and queen and hoping they get along. Kings and queens may both be challenged. They may never decline a fight unless they surrender their crown, but kings may refuse to let anyone challenge their queen if she has already won two previous battles for her crown, but not before she's won two challenges.

004. KINGDOMS
Isola is divided into three kingdoms: the Peace Kingdom, Chaos Kingdom, and Ambivalent Kingdom. These are just fancy names for light, dark, and loner. While Peace and Chaos most always go by those names, Ambivalent is known as both Ambivalent and Loner Kingdom, since loner is sometimes an easier name for it. The kingdoms are not required to get along with one another or feud. It's one of those 'however things happen' sort of deals, and whatever the kings and queens of a given time feel is usually how things end up.

005. POSTING
Isola is an intermediate-advanced roleplay, but we do accept beginners as well. We'd like for your posts to reach 500 words, but we don't make it a requirement. As long as members as active and happily roleplaying, we'll take whatever you can post. We do, however, ask that you don't post any one-liners. Members will not be punished for post length, and we know it's sometimes fun to have those threads where you go back to the noob days and post one-liners for 5 pages, so just do what you can and enjoy yourself!

006. TIME
Isola has a unique time frame that allows a more realistic approach to the site's seasons. Instead of changing the seasons, Isola changes the month. Every Monday starts off a new month, and every season lasts three months. Therefore, every three weeks the season changes. Winter will be December-February, Spring will be March-May, Summer will be June-August, and Fall is September-November. Breeding will take place in summer and winter, and foaling will be the fall and spring months, whenever the weather is just right for those newborns.

007. BREEDING
Breeding will take place in the breeding

[/b] board, usually by the use of form. But members do have the option of roleplaying out their breeding if they really want, as long as they skip the actual breeding part. We don't want any graphic breeding, as that's probably against the proboards terms of service. Please do not request anything from the staff members. They'll give you what they want to give you. And twins are not going to be given very often here, as it's a rare event in real life that twins are born healthy.

008. FOALING
To get your foal information, post in the foaling] board. It in not necessary to roleplay your birthing here unless you'd like to, or you can roleplay your birthing somewhere else - or not at all, if that's what you prefer. Don't bug staff about a particular foal you'd like, and don't expect twins. Twins will be given out rarely and the staff will decide what foal you will get. It is possible to produce a stillborn, and if the mom decides to abandon the foal, she may. If the foal doesn't find a suitable caretaker within the first few hours of birth, the foal will die. But do not make this an issue. If you play the mother and someone else plays the foal, do not abandon the child unless both parties agree that it's ok.

009. BATTLES / FIGHTING
All fights will be fought in the battle grounds, unless a fight breaks out unexpectedly in another location. If that's the case, post a link in the battle board to redirect the judge/s to the thread where the fight is. There is absolutely no powerplaying or godmoding during a fight, unless, again, it's ok with the other player (such as first posts, where you might have to place your opponent). Otherwise powerplaying will grant you an automatic forfeit. Opponents agree upon their own terms, and once set they cannot be changed without agreement. However, there shall be no more than four posts apiece, and a seven day gap between posts or challenges is forfeit. If a stallion challenges for a mare and wins, the mare must go with that stallion. A stallion must have an active mare before he challenges for a land. And resting periods are as follows: two weeks for a lead stallion and four for a royal. If a royal gets back-to-back challenges and continues to win, that may be bumped up to a temporary six weeks.

010. RAPE / FORCE BREEDING
Although a lot of members might disagree, Isola will allow rape or force breeding. However, the members involved must agree to it pre-breeding as to not cause confusion or argument. We won't allow you to say your mare was raped by an unknown stallion. If any mare on this site becomes pregnant, it must be a real breeding. Please keep all breeding posts PG-13 or better. You don't have to be sexual to post a rape. Simply saying he mounted is plenty enough for us to know what happened.

011. STEALING
Stallions may steal mares, other stallions, and land from another stallion. The method is quite simple. If you attempt to steal a land, you must post in the land that you wish to steal it. If seven days goes by without reply, you may claim it as yours. If the stallion tries to defend it, you maybe either run or fight. Stealing mares, and sometimes stallions, is similar. You may either forcefully claim them when they are outside their herdlands, or use the same method as above.

012. CLAIMING
Claiming is very simple. If a mare is wandering outside a herdland, a stallion has the right to claim or steal her - even if she's already claimed. She can, however, try and run away if she's been forcefully claimed or stolen. In the claiming grounds, however, a mare has right to pick and choose who she wants to leave with. She may decline as many offers as she'd like. Only stallions have the power to claim anything, and all claiming threads should be made in the claiming grounds.
